This is my first post? Seriously?! What have I been doing around here?

 [For probably the first time in his life, Almaz has actually pulled his scarf up to mouth level]

I wonder if Overlord Baal caused all of this weather. I mean, I've seen some pretty cold places in Mao's Netherworld, but I've never actually seen something like this. I guess there was no way I would be used to something like this; there wasn't that much ice-related stuff back in Mao's world, apart from someone in our group with ice abilities. Huh, who was that person, again? I mean, I distinctly remember someone that could fre--

[If you'll pardon the horrible, horrible pun, Almaz freezes. He stands in place for a moment.]

O,oh... Right. The Princess... How could I even forget about her, even if it was just for a few seconds? Could it be that I've been away for so long that I'm starting to get used to life without her? B,but living without the Princess is not life at all! If she saw this, it would probably break her heart... [Sigh] Princess...

[Almaz's ability to relate everything to Sapphire is at work again. Yeeeah, he's pretty much just sulking in a corner right now.]

Well, though I was only a guardsman back home, we actually got married before I arrived here, so I guess we are pretty close. At least we were... I haven't really seen her in a while.

Well, it's not your fault, so you don't have anything to be sorry for. If there is anything to blame, it's the fact that I haven't tried hard enough to get out of here.

You shouldn't say that! Leaving this world is no easy feat and I am sure from the way you speak that you have tried your hardest. Being separated from the one you love is very, very difficult, but it leads one to go above and beyond in an attempt to meet again.

I guess so. Still, I always believed that love and friendship could triumph over anything. I still do, but I guess it never occurred to me that most of my friends could be separated from me.

I believe the same, but sometimes there are things that even love and dedication need time to overcome. You still being here is no fault of yours.
